Skin Cancer
Skin cancers include, melanoma, basal cell, and squamous cell. Basal and squamous cell are common and treatment is very effective. Malignant melanoma can be more difficult to treat. Early diagnosis and treatment is crucial and can increase the survival rate from melanoma.
Mohs Surgery
A physician trained in Mohs surgery removes visible tumors with a very thin layer of tissue around it. The surrounding tissue is then examined for signs of cancer-free cells. Mohs surgery spares the greatest amount of healthy tissue, reduces the rate of local recurrence, and has the highest overall cure rate of treatment.
